Leading German Health Insurance Organization, Deutsche Angestellten-Krankenkasse (DAK), Standardizes on Jive Software to Harness Employee Knowledge

PORTLAND, OR, NOVEMBER 25, 2008 - Jive Software, the pure-play collaboration software leader, announces that Deutsche Angestellten-Krankenkasse (DAK), one of the three largest health insurance companies in Germany, is standardizing on technology from Jive Software to facilitate collaboration and speed discovery of crucial information. DAK is one of Germany's top three health insurance agencies and also one of the oldest with 13,000 employees and 6 million customers.

DAK is an organization with a well structured workflow. The majority of DAK's 13,000 employees have worked at the company for over 20 years representing more than 300,000 years of experience within the company. DAK employees needed a simple and intuitive way to find and share information and knowledge across its geographically distributed organization.

DAK has several key goals for its Knowledge Management project:

  • Evolve the culture of the company to embrace knowledge sharing and discard silos
  • Make it easy for people to find the information they need improving overall employee effectiveness.
  • Provide employees with deeper knowledge by harnessing implicit knowledge speeding issue resolution and supporting informed decisions.
  • Create a seamless experience across the company, regardless of department or position

The DAK Knowledge Management project will roll out over approximately two years and is led by a team of 20 business analysts, developers and project managers. The project will go live with a pilot in March of 2009 and will gradually increase in size until the platform is rolled out to all employees.
